11:1  utinam sustineretis modicum quid       1.  Would to God ye could bear with me  
insipientiae meae sed et subportate me       a little in my folly: and indeed bear  
                                             with me.
                                             
11:2  aemulor enim vos Dei aemulatione       2.  For I am jealous over you with  
despondi enim vos uni viro virginem          godly jealousy: for I have espoused you  
castam exhibere Christo                      to one husband, that I may present you  
                                             as a chaste virgin to Christ.
                                             
11:3  timeo autem ne sicut serpens Evam      3.  But I fear, lest by any means, as  
seduxit astutia sua ita corrumpantur         the serpent beguiled Eve through his  
sensus vestri et excidant a                  subtilty, so your minds should be  
simplicitate quae est in Christo             corrupted from the simplicity that is  
                                             in Christ.
                                             
11:4  nam si is qui venit alium              4.  For if he that cometh preacheth  
Christum praedicat quem non                  another Jesus, whom we have not  
praedicavimus aut alium spiritum             preached, or if ye receive another  
accipitis quem non accepistis aut aliud      spirit, which ye have not received, or  
evangelium quod non recepistis recte         another gospel, which ye have not  
pateremini                                   accepted, ye might well bear with him.
                                             
11:5  existimo enim nihil me minus           5.  For I suppose I was not a whit  
fecisse magnis apostolis                     behind the very chiefest apostles.
                                             
11:6  et si inperitus sermone sed non        6.  But though I be rude in speech, yet  
scientia in omnibus autem manifestatus       not in knowledge; but we have been  
sum vobis                                    throughly made manifest among you in  
                                             all things.
                                             
11:7  aut numquid peccatum feci me           7.  Have I committed an offence in  
ipsum humilians ut vos exaltemini            abasing myself that ye might be  
quoniam gratis evangelium Dei                exalted, because I have preached to you  
evangelizavi vobis                           the gospel of God freely?
                                             
11:8  alias ecclesias expoliavi              8.  I robbed other churches, taking  
accipiens stipendium ad ministerium          wages of them, to do you service.

11:9  et cum essem apud vos et egerem        9.  And when I was present with you,  
nulli onerosus fui nam quod mihi deerat      and wanted, I was chargeable to no man:  
suppleverunt fratres qui venerunt a          for that which was lacking to me the  
Macedonia et in omnibus sine onere me        brethren which came from Macedonia  
vobis servavi et servabo                     supplied: and in all things I have kept  
                                             myself from being burdensome unto you,  
                                             and so will I keep myself.
                                             
11:10  est veritas Christi in me             10.  As the truth of Christ is in me,  
quoniam haec gloria non infringetur in       no man shall stop me of this boasting  
me in regionibus Achaiae                     in the regions of Achaia.
                                             
11:11  quare quia non diligo vos Deus        11.  Wherefore? because I love you not?  
scit                                         God knoweth.
                                             
11:12  quod autem facio et faciam ut         12.  But what I do, that I will do,  
amputem occasionem eorum qui volunt          that I may cut off occasion from them  
occasionem ut in quo gloriantur              which desire occasion; that wherein  
inveniantur sicut et nos                     they glory, they may be found even as  
                                             we.
                                             
11:13  nam eiusmodi pseudoapostoli           13.  For such are false apostles,  
operarii subdoli transfigurantes se in       deceitful workers, transforming  
apostolos Christi                            themselves into the apostles of Christ.
                                             
11:14  et non mirum ipse enim Satanas        14.  And no marvel; for Satan himself  
transfigurat se in angelum lucis             is transformed into an angel of light.
                                             
11:15  non est ergo magnum si ministri       15.  Therefore it is no great thing if  
eius transfigurentur velut ministri          his ministers also be transformed as  
iustitiae quorum finis erit secundum         the ministers of righteousness; whose  
opera ipsorum                                end shall be according to their works.
                                             
11:16  iterum dico ne quis me putet          16.  I say again, Let no man think me a  
insipientem alioquin velut insipientem       fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool  
accipite me ut et ego modicum quid           receive me, that I may boast myself a  
glorier                                      little.
                                             
11:17  quod loquor non loquor secundum       17.  That which I speak, I speak it not  
Dominum sed quasi in insipientia in hac      after the Lord, but as it were  
substantia gloriae                           foolishly, in this confidence of  
                                             boasting.
                                             
11:18  quoniam multi gloriantur              18.  Seeing that many glory after the  
secundum carnem et ego gloriabor             flesh, I will glory also.
                                             
11:19  libenter enim suffertis               19.  For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing  
insipientes cum sitis ipsi sapientes         ye yourselves are wise.
                                             
11:20  sustinetis enim si quis vos in        20.  For ye suffer, if a man bring you  
servitutem redigit si quis devorat si        into bondage, if a man devour you, if a  
quis accipit si quis extollitur si quis      man take of you, if a man exalt  
in faciem vos caedit                         himself, if a man smite you on the face.
                                             
11:21  secundum ignobilitatem dico           21.  I speak as concerning reproach, as  
quasi nos infirmi fuerimus in quo quis       though we had been weak. Howbeit  
audet in insipientia dico audeo et ego       whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak  
                                             foolishly,) I am bold also.
                                             
11:22  Hebraei sunt et ego Israhelitae       22.  Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are  
sunt et ego semen Abrahae sunt et ego        they Israelites? so am I. Are they the  
                                             seed of Abraham? so am I.
                                             
11:23  ministri Christi sunt minus           23.  Are they ministers of Christ? (I  
sapiens dico plus ego in laboribus           speak as a fool) I am more; in labours  
plurimis in carceribus abundantius in        more abundant, in stripes above  
plagis supra modum in mortibus               measure, in prisons more frequent, in  
frequenter                                   deaths oft.
                                             
11:24  a Iudaeis quinquies quadragenas       24.  Of the Jews five times received I  
una minus accepi                             forty stripes save one.
                                             
11:25  ter virgis caesus sum semel           25.  Thrice was I beaten with rods,  
lapidatus sum ter naufragium feci nocte      once was I stoned, thrice I suffered  
et die in profundo maris fui                 shipwreck, a night and a day I have  
                                             been in the deep;
                                             
11:26  in itineribus saepe periculis         26.  In journeyings often, in perils of  
fluminum periculis latronum periculis        waters, in perils of robbers, in perils  
ex genere periculis ex gentibus              by mine own countrymen, in perils by  
periculis in civitate periculis in           the heathen, in perils in the city, in  
solitudine periculis in mari periculis       perils in the wilderness, in perils in  
in falsis fratribus                          the sea, in perils among false brethren;
                                             
11:27  in labore et aerumna in vigiliis      27.  In weariness and painfulness, in  
multis in fame et siti in ieiuniis           watchings often, in hunger and thirst,  
multis in frigore et nuditate                in fastings often, in cold and  
                                             nakedness.
                                             
11:28  praeter illa quae extrinsecus         28.  Beside those things that are  
sunt instantia mea cotidiana                 without, that which cometh upon me  
sollicitudo omnium ecclesiarum               daily, the care of all the churches.
                                             
11:29  quis infirmatur et non infirmor       29.  Who is weak, and I am not weak?  
quis scandalizatur et ego non uror           who is offended, and I burn not?
                                             
11:30  si gloriari oportet quae              30.  If I must needs glory, I will  
infirmitatis meae sunt gloriabor             glory of the things which concern mine  
                                             infirmities.
                                             
11:31  Deus et Pater Domini Iesu scit        31.  The God and Father of our Lord  
qui est benedictus in saecula quod non       Jesus Christ, which is blessed for  
mentior                                      evermore, knoweth that I lie not.
                                             
11:32  Damasci praepositus gentis            32.  In Damascus the governor under  
Aretae regis custodiebat civitatem           Aretas the king kept the city of the  
Damascenorum ut me conprehenderet            Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to  
                                             apprehend me:
                                             
11:33  et per fenestram in sporta            33.  And through a window in a basket  
dimissus sum per murum et effugi manus       was I let down by the wall, and escaped  
eius                                         his hands.
